Construction

Construction is one of the few sectors where marketing is read by a committee. The people deciding whether you get the work are not browsing — they are checking, against a list, under time pressure, looking for a reason to shorten it.

That changes what the work has to do. A contractor does not need to be memorable; a contractor needs to be verifiable. Licence, comparable projects, current approvals, capacity, and a company that looks like it will still exist at handover.

Most UAE contractors we see are more capable than their material suggests. The work is good, the site photos exist, and the profile is a slide deck somebody exported to PDF in 2019. That gap costs tenders quietly — you never find out you were cut in the first round.

What gets checked

And where the material usually lets a capable company down.

The profile is the document that decides it

Prequalification is where most of the loss happens, and it is decided on a document. Licence and approvals near the front, project credentials with scope rather than a logo wall, a health and safety section because the form asks for one, plant and manpower, named site management.

Procurement will look you up

Before or after the submission, somebody types your company name into Google. A website that is broken on a phone, or that does not exist, is a data point about how the company is run. It does not need to be elaborate — it needs to load, list the work, and confirm you are real.

An identity that survives site conditions

A contractor's mark spends its life on hoardings, vehicles, PPE, site boards and stamped drawings — printed large, printed small, printed badly, in one colour. Marks with fine detail or tight gradients fall apart in exactly those conditions, which is where yours is seen most.

Documents the office actually uses

Letterhead, method statements, quotation and invoice templates, submittal covers. Unglamorous, produced daily, and usually the only thing a client sees between award and handover. When they look assembled, the company looks organised.

Project photography, presented properly

Most contractors have thousands of site photographs and no way to use them. Selected, captioned with scope and role, and laid out consistently, they are the strongest evidence you own — and the part a committee actually reads.

Common questions

We are a subcontractor, not a main contractor. Is this different?
The reader changes but the checks do not. A main contractor registering subcontractors asks the same questions a client asks a main contractor — licence scope, comparable work, approvals, capacity, safety record. The profile is often shorter, because the scope is narrower.
We have no completed projects under this company yet.
Then the profile leans on what is true: the licence, the team's prior experience named as individuals rather than as company work, plant and capacity, and approvals held. Inventing projects is the one mistake that ends a supplier relationship permanently, and tender committees do check.
How quickly can a profile be turned around for a deadline?
Tell us the deadline before anything else. A short profile can move fast when the licence, certificates and project information are ready to hand; the delay is almost always waiting for material from your side, not design.
Can you work from our existing documents and photos?
Yes — licence, certificates, previous profile, site photographs, whatever the team has. Where a section is missing we interview you and write it rather than leaving a gap for you to fill in later.
